Playbuilder
There has never been such an exciting opportunity to embrace children’s play.
- £235m pledged for children’s play to be spent in 3 years
- 120 Playbuilders will be selected
- In Wave 1 the government announced 43 Playbuilders
- Each Playbuilder will be awarded £1.1m and £45k revenue with an average of 23 play areas and a spend of £50k per site
- £300k must be spent by March 2009 (minimum of 6 play areas to be built by March 09), £400k by March 2010 and £400k by March 2011
- The play areas will focus on 8-13 year olds ensuring sites are attractive to ethnic minorities, girls and providing better disabled access.
